How was the holiday? Whatever you celebrated. How was it?
Does it seem like we have already moved too fast that the holiday is a distant memory?
How is your new year beginning? Do you feel purposeful and clear about 2016?
I find that my year-end, year-beginning transition finds its way to peace, slowness, and staying put. I make time for reflection. An opportunity for marking the passage of time. I always think the word “marking” sounds like a dog or skunk spraying. I guess it is. It’s me marking my time, my life. I spend a lot of December and January marking.
And just like that it comes to completion. This season of transition has resulted in:
A well-organized, uncluttered house, a season of regular napping and lots of surfing. This year was special because of all the celebratory time with friends and family and friends who feel like family.
So that was my transition from 2015 to 2016. Wanted to share and capture that process. Not because it’s perfect, because its important. Really really important.
I hope your transitional season went exactly the way it should.
If it didn’t feel quite right. Do it differently. The biggest difference between today, and this date in 2017 is 2 things:
- The people you meet.
- The books you read.
Be on purpose about those things next year and see what happens.
Oh…one other thing I’ve got to share because I am really into it. I got it from Bob Proctor. I start my day as often as I can with the following brain/heart activity:
- Naming 10 things I am grateful for.
- Naming 3 people you are thinking of.
- Taking 5 minutes of silence/meditation.
- Asking for guidance for the day.
See you out there on the Coconut Wireless adventure.
