Here is a comment I hear almost weekly –
Read??? You’re kidding? When exactly would I have time to read?
If I could make a top 3 list of things to FIGURE OUT in your life – this would be one of them. The other 2 would have to do with nutrition and family.
FIGURE OUT when it’s a good time for you to read.
Here is the PERFECT guidance from Steven Taylor Goldsberry and his Writers Book of Wisdom.
He instructs:
“Keep a READ-IN-PROGRESS” nearby.
If you go anywhere, take a book with a pen wedged between the pages instead of a fancy bookmark. This is so you can underline and make notes…
Paperbacks are best for this obviously, Smaller ones can fit in your pocket.
When you’re stuck (fully stopped) in a traffic jam, standing in a line, waiting for a bus, sitting thru a boring sermon, riding in a car with family- whenever something less interesting than a book is going on around you – READ.
I don’t know about you…but I have “less interesting than a book moments” ALL THE TIME…So I READ. Most of us cruise social media or play a game on our phone… SWAP IT OUT FOR READING!
Here is an excellent read that will fit in your pocket.
