This article has been written to honor the athletes I know who are “of age”.
Of age? What does that mean exactly? These guys have been able to buy booze and cigarettes for about a half-century.

Rhonda Pierce. The 9th fittest female in her age category in the world according to Crossfit
My mother in-law can do things that most men half her age just simply can’t.
Here is an example. Hanging from bars and swinging your entire self – up and over the bar. So your arms are locked out and our entire torso is now above the bar. She does this, and can do it repeatedly without stopping. Can you do that? Try it. It’s called a muscle up.
An athlete of age – She is all around lovely.

The other woman I want to introduce you to is a gem of an athlete. What she told me one day was outstanding, it has stuck with me. Heather explained the way in which her friends moved. At her age, she explained fitness is supporting movement of the body. This is the most important task. Then to have fluidity, not rigidity in ones own movement certainly is noteworthy. Noteworthy enough to mention it to me after she attended a party with friends of different ages. She noted the manner in which folks move. Even casually at a party. Rigidity or grace? She experiences fluidity in movement and appreciates it. Now that is certainty fitness as well.
Here is Heathers routine. Hilo Health Cooperative advanced class 3x a week. She regularly trains by pushing weight over head and using intensity to her advantage, plus 3x a week mobility/yoga. On weekends she hobbies in gardening.
I wrote about fitness a while back and I wanted to add this on. Rhonda and Heather are outstanding examples of capable humans. In their bodies and in their hearts.
Carry on in your CWL. See you out there!
